Your elf leaves a kit for making pinecone bird feeders, so the winter birds get a treat too. A kind, outdoorsy craft for a slower weekend morning.

Requisition slip
  • Pinecones
  • Sunflower seed butter or vegetable shortening
  • Birdseed
  • String
  • A tray

Setting the scene

  1. 1Tie a loop of string to the top of each pinecone.
  2. 2Set out the pinecones, a dish of spread, a tray of birdseed and a butter knife.
  3. 3Make one finished feeder as an example and sit the elf beside it.
