Form NP-4 · Reply to Correspondence Received

Children write to Santa with questions. How do the reindeer fly? What are your favourite cookies? Do you ever get tired? This Pass document is Santa's personal reply. Type in what your child wrote, and the North Pole Liaison Office composes an answer that responds to each point, thanks them for their wishes without making promises, and signs off with the seal.

Re: Reply to Correspondence Received

Dear Maya,

Thank you for your wonderful letter! It has been stamped RECEIVED WITH JOY and placed in the Very Important Letters tray, right next to my cocoa.

Your wishes (a red scooter, a dinosaur book and paints) have been entered in the Big Book of Christmas Wishes, in my very best handwriting. As you know, the workshop has a great many letters to balance, so sometimes the sleigh brings a surprise or two instead. That’s part of the magic.

You asked: ‘How do the reindeer fly?’ What an excellent question. The full answer is kept in the Top Secret Drawer, but I can tell you it involves a little magic, a lot of practice and a great deal of cocoa.

Until Christmas Eve, please keep up the good work. Be gentle with yourself and others, and get plenty of sleep.

P.S. The elves say your handwriting is ‘very elf-like’. It’s their highest compliment.

Filed in accordance with the Whimsy Act. Please keep in a safe and magical place.

Questions from grown-ups

Santa's Reply to Your Child's Letter

Plain answers about this document, for the grown-ups doing the filing.

Q.1Do I need a Pass for Santa's reply letter?

Yes. Santa's Reply is a premium document included with the Holiday Season Pass and Annual Magic Clearance, because it's composed from your child's own letter.

Q.2Will Santa promise the gifts my child asked for?

No. Santa thanks your child for their wishes and says the workshop will do its very best, without committing to particular gifts.

Q.3What if my child asked a question I can't answer?

Santa's replies are written to keep the wonder intact. Answers are warm, playful and a little mysterious, the way the best North Pole correspondence should be.
